Is working as an IT professional in tourism companies specialized in booking hotels for foreign tourists impermissible (haram) or permissible (halal)? And is the aforementioned assistance to the company in resolving its issues not allowed?

The ruling on preparing and maintaining devices used for booking hotels depends on the ruling of the booking itself.

Booking hotels for tourists who are likely to commit forbidden acts has two scenarios:

1. Hotels prepared for accommodation only: It is permissible to book them even if tourists commit some objectionable acts therein, because the basic principle regarding booking and renting for a disbeliever or a transgressor is permissibility. This falls under the category of assisting a disbeliever or a disobedient person in something other than their disobedience.

2. Hotels prepared for committing forbidden acts: Such as the presence of bars, nightclubs, or mixed-gender swimming pools. In this case, renting them is considered aiding in forbidden acts. Allah Almighty says: "And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression. And fear Allah; indeed, Allah is severe in penalty."

Accordingly, there is no harm in your work at the company and assisting it, as long as its activity in booking hotels does not lead to aiding in disobedience. Otherwise, you would be a participant in aiding in sin and aggression.
