What is the financial obligation towards the fiancée before the wedding, and what are the conditions for the marital home?

Among the rights of a woman after the marriage contract and before consummation is the dowry. If a divorce occurs before consummation, half of the dowry is divided between the spouses, and it is recommended that one of the spouses waive their due half for the other. As for maintenance (nafaqa), a woman is not entitled to it unless she enables her husband. So, if he has not consummated the marriage with her, maintenance is not obligatory for her unless she surrenders herself to the husband and enables him to consummate the marriage with her. There are no specific conditions for the marital home; what is important is that it be suitable, and the woman has the right to stipulate an independent home.
