Is it true that a Companion was prayed upon by seven thousand angels due to his consistent recitation of Surat Al-Ikhlas in all circumstances?

The hadith is weak in its chain of transmission, and a number of scholars have judged it to be weak and objectionable due to the following defects:

1. Al-Ala’ Abu Muhammad Al-Thaqafi: Accused of fabricating hadith and is a rejected narrator of hadith.

2. Al-Tabarani’s narration from Abu Umamah: Nuḥ ibn Umar Al-Himsi is the only one who narrated it, and it was said that he stole this hadith.

3. Another chain of transmission from Anas: It contains Uthman ibn Al-Haytham (prone to many errors and susceptible to prompting) and Maḥboub ibn Hilal (unknown and his hadith is objectionable).

4. A mursal (interrupted) chain of transmission from Al-Ḥasan: It contains Sadaqah ibn Abi Sahl, who is unknown.

5. Another mursal chain of transmission: It contains Ali ibn Zayd ibn Judan (weak) and Aba’ah ibn Kulayb (prone to errors).

Ibn Abd Al-Barr said that the chains of transmission for this hadith are not strong, and there is no proof in them for legal rulings.
