Is it permissible to watch a program in which there is cursing, while muting the sound during the cursing?

There is no harm in following the aforementioned program if it is free of forbidden insults and curses and includes permissible matters. Avoiding hearing what is forbidden is مطلوب (sought/required), unless that leads to abandoning an obligation, such as abandoning congregational prayer.
