What should a husband do whose wife is remiss in fulfilling his marital rights due to her long working hours outside the home, and she refuses his marriage to another and threatens him with divorce, while he spends a large portion of his meager pre-agreed salary on her and their rented accommodation in exchange for her helping with household expenses? And is she entitled to seek a divorce in this case? And is he remiss in maintenance or sinful?

It is obligatory for both spouses to live together amicably and fulfill their duties, which include the husband's financial support of his wife. The wife is not obligated to spend from her own money on the household, unless the husband stipulated when he permitted her to work that she give him a certain amount of it. It is obligatory for the wife to obey her husband if he calls her to bed, and she is not permitted to refuse except for a legitimate excuse. If the woman stipulated in the marriage contract that he should not marry another, then she has the right to annul the marriage if he does marry; but if she did not stipulate this, she does not have the right to seek divorce.
