What is the ruling on establishing a wedding hall where intermingling [between sexes] and musical bands are prohibited, while the customer has the freedom to choose the tapes (whether musical or Islamic)?

It is permissible to establish a wedding hall if it is free from forbidden things such as intermingling and music. However, it is not permissible to rent it out for listening to songs, due to the severe warnings against listening to singing, such as the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "There will be among my Ummah people who will consider lawful fornication, silk, alcoholic drinks, and musical instruments," and his saying: "Two voices are cursed in this world and the hereafter: a musical instrument at a time of blessing, and wailing at a time of calamity."
