Anger is a dangerous instinct from which the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, warned. For this reason, he advised a man, saying: "Do not get angry." Its cure lies in avoiding its causes, seeking refuge with Allah from Satan, exercising patience and suppressing rage, remembering the reward of those who suppress rage and pardon people, changing the posture of the angry person, such as sitting if standing, performing ablution, and remembering Allah. Through piety towards Allah, preserving His obligations, and frequent supplication and remembrance, the heart expands and finds tranquility.
