How does a person control his nerves when he gets angry, despite reciting the remembrances (adhkar) and saying, "There is no might or power except with Allah"?

Anger is from the promptings of Satan, and the Prophetic Sunnah has provided remedies to get rid of it and limit its effects, including:

1. Seeking refuge with Allah from Satan: Because it dispels anger. 2. Silence: To avoid uttering what the angry person might regret. 3. Changing position (stillness): The standing person should sit, and the sitting person should lie down; to prevent rash actions. 4. Upholding the Prophet's (peace be upon him) exhortation "Do not get angry": Because anger encompasses all evil. 5. Remembering the great reward for those who suppress their rage: Such as entering Paradise and Allah's pleasure. 6. Knowing that the strong person is he who controls himself when angry: For suppressing rage is among the highest ranks. 7. Following the guidance of the Prophet (peace be upon him): In controlling his anger and making it for the sake of Allah when His sacred limits are violated. 8. Knowing that suppressing rage is one of the signs of the righteous (Al-Muttaqin): Whom Allah has praised and promised Paradise. 9. Recalling upon being reminded: By reading the Qur'an, especially the verse: "Take forgiveness, enjoin what is good, and turn away from the ignorant." 10. Knowing the evils of anger: Such as cursing, striking, killing, divorce which destroys families, and health damages. 11. Reflecting on oneself at the moment of anger: To see the ugliness of one's appearance and uncoordinated movements. 12. Supplication (Du'a): That Allah may free one from evils and bad morals, and keep one firm upon the truth in contentment and anger.
