Does praying for healing from obsessive-compulsive disorder—knowing that it is a tribulation from Allah and that obsession is from Satan—constitute an overstepping of divine boundaries, and does the one who makes this prayer apostatize from the faith?

"Defending against tribulation with supplication is not ill-mannered towards God; rather, it is the guidance of the Prophets, such as the supplications of Ayyub, Yunus, and Zakariya (peace be upon them). What is forbidden is excessiveness in supplication by asking for what is impermissible شرعاً (religiously) or عقلاً (rationally), such as seeking assistance for forbidden acts or asking to live until the Day of Judgment, as Ibn Taymiyyah explained. It is appropriate to avoid attributing evil directly to God out of reverence for Him, even if it is by His decree, as Ibraheem (peace be upon him) and the believing Jinn did, and as is stated in the supplication of the Prophet (peace be upon him): 'All good is in Your hands, and evil is not attributed to You.'"
