Who are the people of major sins?

People who commit major sins are those who violate God's sacred laws and commit sins for which Islamic law has prescribed a worldly punishment or threatened with a punishment in the Hereafter. Major sins vary; some are among the gravest, such as associating partners with God (shirk), taking a life, disobeying one's parents, and bearing false witness. Others include the seven destructive sins: associating partners with God, sorcery, unlawfully taking a life, consuming usury, consuming an orphan's property, fleeing from the battlefield, and slandering chaste women.
