Major sins are all grave transgressions, differing from minor sins in that they require sincere repentance for their expiation, whereas minor sins can be expiated by avoiding major sins and performing righteous deeds such as the five daily prayers, fasting Ramadan, Hajj, and Umrah, bearing in mind that the rights of people are not waived except through just retribution.
