It is forbidden to play or listen to music, whether it is with singing or not. Music with singing is a greater affliction and causes more corruption to human nature and morals. It is not permissible to use music for therapy due to the availability of Islamic alternatives that suffice, such as Islamic anasheed (chants) and reading the Quran.
