If someone dons the ihram for Umrah or Hajj and then breaks it, what is incumbent upon him?

If a Muslim wears the izar (lower garment) and rida' (upper garment) without the intention of entering into the ritual (Nusuk), then he has the choice to enter or not. However, if he intends to enter into Hajj or Umrah, he is not permitted to withdraw from the ritual. Rather, he must complete it, as Allah Almighty says: ﴿And complete the Hajj and 'Umrah for Allah.﴾ [Al-Baqarah: 196]. This is unless he stipulated a condition at the time of ihram and an impediment occurred, in which case he is permitted to exit the state of ihram.
