Is the wife still married to her husband, bearing in mind that he pronounced the oath of divorce upon her five or six times over the past three years, taking into account that each time he believed the divorce did not occur for various reasons such as menstruation or extreme anger?

The fatwa we adopt is that an innovated divorce (talaq bid'i) is effective, such as divorcing a menstruating woman or divorcing her during a period of purity in which intercourse occurred. This also applies to the divorce issued by an angry person, unless he has completely lost his sanity. Therefore, if you divorced your wife with three pronouncements while being aware, she is irrevocably divorced from you with a major separation (baynunah kubra), and she is not permissible for you unless she marries another man willingly, he consummates the marriage with her, and then he divorces her or dies, and her waiting period (iddah) expires. Some scholars, like Sheikh Al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah, do not consider an innovated divorce or the divorce of an extremely angry person to be effective.
