If a miscarriage occurs and the fetus has not formed inside the womb, the blood discharged as a result is considered blood of vitiation (dam fasad). In this case, the woman should pray, fast, and her husband may approach her. If, after that, blood, yellowish discharge, or brownish discharge appears during the time of her regular menstruation or with its characteristics, then it is menstrual blood (hayd).
