What should a girl do who agreed to an engagement and marriage to a man so she could complete her studies, but later discovered that he does not approve of university education for women, and that he believes in polygyny, which she does not accept, causing her to hate him and consider annulling the contract?

If the husband is a man of good character and religious commitment, do not seek separation from him through divorce or khul' (divorce at the wife's instance) as there is no legitimate shar'i (Islamic legal) justification. Discuss with him the matter of university studies, while prioritizing the pleasure of Allah. The right of a man to marry more than one wife is Islamically established. A woman may stipulate in the marriage contract that he not marry another wife in addition to her, and that she may go out to work or study.
