Rubbing (Dalk) is not obligatory in Wudu (ablution) or (ritual bath) according to the majority of scholars; rather, it is recommended. Contrary to the Malikis, who deem it obligatory, they differed on whether it must coincide with the pouring of water. The preferred view among them is that it is not a condition for it to coincide; instead, it is sufficient for it to be done immediately after pouring, as long as the limb has not dried. This is the sounder opinion to alleviate hardship and difficulty.
