Is the aforementioned hadith authentic, and who narrated it, and how can one search for it in the books of hadith?

This narration was exclusively transmitted by Nu'aym ibn Hammad in his book "Al-Fitan." It is not attributed to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him; rather, it is a disconnected statement from the Tabi'i Ka'b al-Ahbar. Nu'aym ibn Hammad was weak in hadith due to his frequent errors and his transmission of reprehensible narrations, especially concerning apocalyptic events. Therefore, it is not permissible to use as evidence what Nu'aym ibn Hammad exclusively transmits. Even if we assume the authenticity of the narration back to Ka'b al-Ahbar, it falls under the category of Isra'iliyyat (narrations from Jewish sources) which should be dealt with according to the Prophet's instruction: "Do not believe the People of the Book, nor disbelieve them, but say: 'We believe in Allah and what has been revealed to us.'"
