What is the ruling of Sharia concerning a wife who suffers from excessive hair growth on her chin and cheeks, which causes her husband to be repulsed by her?

The presence of hair on a woman's chin and cheeks is not a defect that invalidates the marriage, because the defects that establish the option of annulment are legally specified as insanity, leprosy, and vitiligo for both parties, and those specific to women such as: hernia, qarn (a fleshy growth in the vagina), and afal (a prolapsed uterus). These defects do not prevent enjoyment nor is their transmission feared, and therefore the marriage is not annulled by them. It is permissible for a woman to remove this hair if it reaches the point of disfiguring her appearance, and it is recommended to remove it if she grows a beard, mustache, or imperial. It is preferable that this be with the husband's permission and knowledge.
