How can an expatriate honor his parents who reside in another country in order to gain the virtue of honoring one's parents?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

Filial piety is among the most emphasized duties. It is achieved by obeying them, treating them kindly, respecting them, and not showing annoyance, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "May his nose be rubbed in the dust, may his nose be rubbed in the dust, may his nose be rubbed in the dust." It was asked: "Whose, O Messenger of Allah?" He replied: "He who reaches old age with his parents, one or both of them, yet does not enter Paradise." One must honor them to the best of their ability, whether with money or otherwise. It is not necessary for the child to be in the same place as their parents; rather, the important thing is not to disobey their commands and not to abandon them to destitution.
