Is it permissible for the husband to dispose of his wife's salary without her consent? Is he allowed to force her to leave her job? And is it permissible for a brother to intervene to protect the interests of his married sisters?

The husband is not entitled to take his wife's money except with her permission or by common custom. He is obliged to spend on her regardless of her wealth. It is not permissible for the husband to force his wife to quit her job if he had agreed to her working before the marriage contract, and her work adheres to Islamic guidelines and does not affect the rights of the husband or children, as the Prophet, peace be upon him, said: "The conditions most worthy of fulfillment are those by which you make intimacy lawful" and "Muslims are bound by their conditions, except a condition that makes a lawful thing unlawful or an unlawful thing lawful." As for the sister's intervention to protect the interests of her sisters, it should be within the bounds of removing injustice and reforming with wisdom. We advise the sister to concede some of her rights to preserve her marital life. The husband should not oppress his wife or compel her to spend [on the household]. The marital relationship should be based on retention with kindness, as Allah Almighty says: (Retention with kindness or release with excellence). The husband should be a good example in his treatment of his family, as the Prophet, peace be upon him, said: "The best of you is the best to his family, and I am the best of you to my family."
