What is meant by the following (O Allah, wash away my sins) and (O Allah, remove the grudges from my heart)?

The text of the supplication is: "My Lord, aid me and do not aid against me; grant me victory and do not grant victory over me; scheme for me and do not scheme against me; guide me and make guidance easy for me; and grant me victory over whoever wrongs me. O Allah, make me grateful to You, mindful of You, reverent of You, obedient to You, humble before You, or repentant. My Lord, accept my repentance, wash away my sin, answer my supplication, make firm my proof, guide my heart, make straight my tongue, and extract the malice from my heart." The meaning of "wash away my sin " is erase my sin, and "extract the malice from my heart" means remove its deceit, rancor, hatred, and envy.
