Does impurity transfer to a pure, wet garment if it touches an impure, dry garment, when the pure garment is wet but wrung out so that no water drips from it?

The Maliki and Hanafi schools hold that fresh dates (rutab) do not become impure upon contact with dry impurity. The Hanbalis agree with them if the fresh dates are not wet. As for the Shafi'is, they consider them impure absolutely. According to the Shafi'is, it is permissible to wear an impure garment outside of prayer and similar situations if it is dry and the body is likewise dry. However, it is not permissible if there is wetness, because the madhhab prohibits making the body impure without necessity. An exception to this is if the time is summer such that one sweats and their body becomes impure, necessitating its washing for prayer while water is unavailable.
