Must I repeat the prayers that I combined and shortened during a journey lasting more than four days, if I do not recall whether my action was based on a scholar's opinion or personal ijtihad?

A traveler is granted the concessions of travel, even if their journey extends. The disagreement among jurists lies in the intention to reside for four days or more. The majority hold that the ruling of travel ceases with such an intention, while others maintain its continuation. Whoever acts upon the view that the ruling of travel does not cease is not required to re-perform the prayers, even if they acted upon it independently, as long as it aligns with a statement of the people of knowledge. If one wishes to be cautious and re-perform the prayer to avoid disagreement, there is no harm in that.
