Is a wife's disposal of her husband's liquor bottles, specifically, considered lying to him and concealing them when he asks about them, Islamically unlawful? And is she entitled to dispose of and get rid of these unlawful items?

It is permissible for a woman to pour out the wine her husband brings home, and there is no blame upon her if she tells him, "I did not see it," intending dissimulation (tawriyah). If she is compelled to lie explicitly, there is no blame upon her, because lying for a legitimate Sharia interest is permissible. It is permissible if the intended objective cannot be achieved except through lying. Scholars have cited as evidence for the permissibility of lying in this situation the hadith of Umm Kulthum, may Allah be pleased with her, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The liar is not he who reconciles between people by conveying good or saying good." Muslim added: "And I did not hear him permit anything that people say except in three matters": meaning war, reconciling between people, a man's conversation with his wife, and a woman's conversation with her husband.
