The answer

Earning money through illicit means is forbidden (haram), and a Muslim is accountable for the source of their wealth. If you acquired unlawful money out of ignorance, you may benefit from it, as Allah Almighty says: "So whoever receives an admonition from his Lord and desists, he may have what has already passed, and his affair is up to Allah." However, if you were aware of its unlawfulness, you must dispose of the illicit money by giving it to the poor and needy or for the public welfare of Muslims. You are not permitted to benefit from it unless you are poor and in need, in which case you may give it as charity to yourself and your dependents. As for the items in which that money was spent, it is not forbidden for you to benefit from them.
