How can it be said that the narration of Ibn Abbas about the children who spoke in the cradle is sound and authentic and not Israeiliyyat, while Sheikh Al-Albani weakens it and considers it false, and it is said that Hammad heard from Ata’ before and after his اختلاط, and that Ata’ would raise Mawqufat, in addition to the Hadith not being narrated through another chain, and that the story of the witness for Yusuf in the Quran indicates that he was a man and not a child, as Al-Albani pointed out?

The aforementioned hadith is that of Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them both, concerning the story of the hairdresser of Pharaoh's daughter. It was narrated by Imam Ahmad in "Al-Musnad" and others. Scholars have differed regarding whether Hammad bin Salamah's hearing from 'Ata' bin Al-Sa'ib was before or after 'Ata' suffered from اختلاط (confusion/memory loss). The majority of scholars hold that his hearing was before the اختلاط, which makes the hadith sound and its chain of narration authentic. Meanwhile, others believe that he heard from him in both states, or that his narration from him was after the اختلاط. The more probable view is that Hammad bin Salamah's hadith from 'Ata' bin Al-Sa'ib is not accepted unless it is clarified that it was narrated by him before 'Ata' suffered from اختلاط. Based on this, the more precise ruling is to deem the hadith weak due to 'Ata' bin Al-Sa'ib's اختلاط, and this is a matter of scholarly ijtehad (independent reasoning) in which one should not condemn those who hold differing views.
