Do the dead feel what is happening in life and know people's news, and can they offer advice?

The hearing of the dead by the living is among the unseen matters whose knowledge is limited to the texts of revelation from the Quran and Sunnah. Evidence has indicated that the dead hear the speech of the living, such as the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Indeed, he hears the thud of their sandals." Scholars have differed on this matter. As for the deceased feeling what is happening in life, knowing people's news, and offering advice to the living, there is no evidence to support it.
