Is this hadith authentic: "At the time of sunset, we say: Bismillah (In the name of Allah). And we close the windows, so that the jinn do not enter"?
The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, commanded that doors be closed and the name of Allah be mentioned at nightfall and before sleeping, in order to protect the Muslim, his family, and his home from human and jinn devils, as well as harmful insects and animals. Al-Bukhari and Muslim narrated from Jabir ibn Abdullah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "When night falls—or when you enter the evening—restrain your children, for indeed Satan spreads out at that time. Then, when an hour of the night has passed, let them go. And close the doors, and mention the name of Allah, for indeed Satan does not open a closed door. And tie the mouths of your waterskins, and mention the name of Allah. And cover your vessels, and mention the name of Allah, even if you just place something across them. And extinguish your lamps."
