Is it permissible for a girl to pressure her family into marrying a disabled man of a different nationality, despite their expected refusal, the absence of a material dowry, and her traveling with him and leaving her displeased mother, knowing that she fears he may be tempted away from his religion if she does not agree?

The fact that a man is of another nationality or afflicted [with a disability/illness] does not prevent marrying him if his religion and character are pleasing, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "If there comes to you one whose religion and character you are pleased with, then marry [your daughter] to him. If you do not do so, there will be tribulation on earth and widespread corruption."

However, marriage to him is not permissible without the consent of the girl's guardian (wali). Obedience to parents in what is good is obligatory. She must try to convince her family of this. If they agree, then praise be to Allah. If they do not agree, then she should leave him.

She must avoid continuous communication with him via phone or internet, because he is not her husband, and such communications may lead to temptation.
