Is Zakat due on gold left in another country with the intention of wearing it in the future, given that it has not been worn for several years?

There is no Zakat obligatory upon a woman for the gold she wears or prepares for adornment, according to the majority of scholars, and this is the most preponderant opinion. Some scholars, however, hold the view that Zakat is obligatory upon it if the conditions for its obligation are met: these are reaching the nisab (85 grams), the passing of a full year (hawl), and the Zakat amount is a quarter of a tenth (2.5%), and it is to be paid for past years.
