What is the belief system and methodology of Al-Manawi in Hadith, the author of the book "Fayd al-Qadir Sharh al-Jami' al-Saghir min Ahadith al-Bashir al-Nadhir," and how should we deal with those who have erred in belief and deviated from the methodology of the Salaf, especially in our time?

Al-Manawi, the author of the book "Fayd al-Qadir," was an Ash'ari and a Sufi. Despite this, he highly revered the Sunnah and warned against innovations.

His book "Fayd al-Qadir" is important because it is an encyclopedic commentary, a reference for lost sources, and is distinguished by its style and the quality of its نقل (transmissions/citations), but it contained Ash'ari affirmations and Sufi excesses.

It is permissible to acquire the book for someone who has a good grasp of the creed of the Salaf and can leave aside what contradicts the Sunnah.

As for the scholars who interpreted the divine attributes (الصفات), such as Al-Manawi and others, they are among the great Muslim scholars through whom Allah benefited the Ummah. They are considered from Ahl al-Sunnah in what they agreed with the Companions and the Salaf, and they erred in what they interpreted from the texts of the divine attributes.
