Are individuals who pray alone at home sinful if some wait for others to finish praying in order to perform their prayers individually?

It is preferable for women to pray in congregation, according to the soundest opinion of the madhhab and the view of the majority of scholars. If they pray individually, their prayer is valid. As for men, it is not permissible for them to miss congregational prayer in the mosque without an excuse. The prayer of one who prays in his home without an excuse is valid, though he incurs sin.
