What distinguished the heroic companion Abu Dujana?

The Companion Abu Dujanah al-Ansari, may Allah be pleased with him, was characterized by courage, sacrifice, and strength of faith. Evidence of this is that on the Day of Uhud, he took the sword of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, with its due right, and with it, he split the heads of the polytheists. On that day, he tied his head with a red headband known as the "headband of death." He was martyred, may Allah be pleased with him, in the fight against Musaylamah the Liar, after participating in his killing.
