What should a married Muslim family man do who fears God but is addicted to searching for female pornography online, in order to recover from this addiction?
Looking at 'awrahs (private parts) and pornographic images is absolutely forbidden by the texts of the Quran and Sunnah, as Allah Almighty says: "Tell the believing men to reduce [some] of their vision and guard their private parts. That is purer for them. Indeed, Allah is Acquainted with what they do," and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade following one glance with another. Whoever is afflicted by this must immediately repent by ceasing the act, regretting it, and resolving not to return to it. They must also get rid of the cause of temptation, such as the internet if it leads to disobedience, improve their choice of companions, and increase voluntary acts of worship and remembrance of Allah.
