Is it permissible to go to a Christian sorcerer to write a paper to expel scorpions from the house, knowing that this sorcerer writes papers to expel insects, and that going to him is considered polytheism, but there is an urgent necessity due to the presence of children in the house?
Visiting sorcerers and charlatans is forbidden and a great sin, for magic is disbelief (kufr). Allah Almighty says: [And Solomon did not disbelieve, but the devils disbelieved, teaching people magic]. And whoever goes to a soothsayer or a sorcerer and believes him, has disbelieved in what was revealed to Muhammad, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever goes to a soothsayer or a diviner and believes what he says, has disbelieved in what was revealed to Muhammad." Therefore, it is not permissible to go to them or to take anything from them. Instead, one must rely on Allah and protect oneself with the Qur'an, remembrance of Allah (dhikr), and lawful ruqyah, while striving to get rid of insects through legitimate means.
