What is the ruling on seeking sorcery and using it to harm people and their children? Are those who do so considered Muslims? Are their good deeds accepted after they have ruined people's lives? And what is their punishment in this world and the hereafter?

Consulting sorcerers, even to inquire about a stolen item, is forbidden and is considered among the major sins. It may even reach the level of disbelief (kufr) if it involves believing their claims about the knowledge of the unseen, or obeying them in directing worship to other than Allah.

Whoever among them disbelieves (becomes a kafir), their deeds are rejected and rendered void. As for whoever does not disbelieve, their ruling is that of disobedient wrongdoers; they will have the reward for their deeds and bear the burden of their sins, and the injustices against people remain their responsibility.
