What is the interpretation of Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-'As's statement to the man for whom the Messenger testified to Paradise three times: "Indeed, I am in a dispute or disagreement with my father," knowing that the dispute was not real?

This Hadith was narrated by Ahmad and Abd al-Razzaq from Anas ibn Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said three times: "There will now come forth to you a man from the people of Paradise." Each time, the same man appeared, and he was from the Ansar. Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-Aas, may Allah be pleased with them both, followed him and stayed with him for three nights, claiming that he had quarreled with his father and sworn not to enter his presence for three days, in order to observe his actions. Abdullah did not see him perform extensive night prayers; rather, he would remember Allah and magnify Him when he turned over on his bed until the Fajr prayer, and Abdullah heard him say nothing but good. When Abdullah asked him about the deed that had elevated him to that status, the man said: "It is nothing more than what you have seen, except that I do not find in my soul any deceit towards any Muslim, nor do I envy anyone for any good that Allah has bestowed upon them." Abdullah then said: "This is what has brought you to this (status), and this is what we cannot endure."

As for Abdullah ibn Amr's statement, may Allah be pleased with them both, that he had argued with his father, and then his statement: "Indeed, there was no anger or estrangement between me and my father," this was a lie for a predominant religious benefit. Scholars have mentioned the permissibility of lying in certain situations for a legitimate Shariah interest, such as manifesting religion and preventing disobedience, as stated by Ibn Taymiyyah.
