Does Verse 6:93 from Surat Al-An'am, "And who is more unjust than one who invents a lie about Allah or says, 'It has been inspired to me,' while nothing has been inspired to him at all, and one who says, 'I will reveal [anything] like what Allah has revealed'? And if you could but see when the wrongdoers are in the agonies of death and the angels are stretching forth their hands, [saying], 'Yield up your souls! This Day you will be awarded the punishment of [extreme] humiliation for what you used to say against Allah other than the truth and [that] you used to be arrogant toward His verses," speak about Abdullah ibn Abi Sarh or about someone else, considering the interpretations of the Quranic commentators?

Verse 93 of Surat Al-An'am, which states: (And who is more unjust than one who invents a lie about Allah or says, "It has been inspired to me," while nothing has been inspired to him, and one who says, "I can produce the like of what Allah has sent down"?), summarizes that this verse was revealed concerning Abdullah ibn Sa'd ibn Abi Sarh. More than one scholar has mentioned this, including Ibn Abi Hatim, Ibn Jarir, Al-Khattabi, Ibn Taymiyyah, and Al-Qurtubi. The scholars of the Ummah have unanimously agreed that Ibn Abi Sarh was among those who said, "Indeed, I have said the like of what Muhammad said," and that he apostatized from Islam, then returned to Islam and his repentance was good.

The verse is general, encompassing anyone who invents a lie about Allah, or falsely claims revelation, or says, "I can produce the like of what Allah has sent down." Whoever is among such people and dies upon that, blame will befall him and Allah will perpetuate him in the Fire. As for one who repents and reforms, Allah accepts his repentance, as Allah the Almighty said: (Except for those who repent, believe, and do righteous deeds - for those, Allah will change their evil deeds into good ones. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful).
