How long does the period for offering the sacrifice of Eid al-Adha extend after Eid?

The time for sacrificing the Udhiyah (sacrificial animal) begins after the Eid al-Nahr prayer and extends until sunset on the thirteenth day of Dhul-Hijjah. Thus, the days of sacrifice are four: the day of Eid after the prayer, and three days thereafter, which are the days of Tashreeq, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "All the days of Tashreeq are for sacrifice." Therefore, whoever slaughters before the prayer or after sunset on the thirteenth day, their Udhiyah is not valid.
