Is it necessary to complete Surat Al-Baqarah in one sitting? Does its reward differ if recited in multiple sittings within a single day? Is the reward for listening to the Quran the same as the reward for reciting it? Is a person rewarded for reciting or listening if their heart or mind is preoccupied?

Prophetic hadiths have been authenticated regarding the virtues of Surat Al-Baqarah in expelling devils and nullifying magic, including: "Recite Surat Al-Baqarah, for taking it is a blessing, and abandoning it is a cause of sorrow, and the sorcerers cannot withstand it," and "Indeed, Satan flees from the house in which Surat Al-Baqarah is recited."

It is not a condition to recite it in one sitting, though if possible, it is better. Otherwise, it is permissible to divide it into sessions, with emphasis on the virtue of reciting it with contemplation. Listening to it carries great reward and expels Satan, but it does not reach the virtue of direct recitation, yet it is better than abandoning it altogether.
