What is the ruling on praying Fajr at home and staying in the prayer area until sunrise with the intention of gaining the reward of a complete Hajj, knowing that the prayer is performed before the time for Fajr expires, and in many cases the worshiper does not catch it in the mosque?

A man should not deliberately stay away from congregational prayers in the mosque due to the great reward he misses, and many scholars have even gone to the extent of saying that it is obligatory. As for the reward of a complete Hajj and Umrah for one who sits remembering Allah after Fajr, it is contingent upon the descriptions mentioned in the Hadith: "Whoever prays Fajr in congregation, then sits remembering Allah until the sun rises, then prays two rak'ahs, he will have a reward like that of a Hajj and an Umrah." This reward is hoped for whoever prays in congregation at home, as the Hadith did not restrict the prayer to the mosque. However, whoever prays alone will not attain this reward, unless it was his habit to pray in congregation and he missed it due to an excuse, in which case he is hoped to attain the reward, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "If a servant falls ill or travels, he will be credited with the like of what he used to do when he was a resident and healthy."
