It is not permissible to acquire copied programs and books without the permission of their owners, unless one needs them because the original is unavailable or one is unable to purchase it. In such cases, it is permissible to copy them for personal use only, provided that this is not a means of earning money and is limited to the extent of the need. Ibn Uthaymin stated that it is permissible to copy discs for personal use, but prohibited for commercial purposes. There is no harm in benefiting from what has been earned from working on developing questions and answers. Whenever you are able to purchase an original copy, do so.
