How can a person attain the love of a brother in Islam?

The love of creation is gained by pleasing the Creator. If Allah loves a servant, He bestows upon him acceptance on earth. Similarly, forgetting the rights of Allah leads to mutual animosity. There are deeds that increase love among people, including: spreading greetings of peace (salām), giving gifts, addressing a person by the names he prefers most, making space for him in gatherings, smiling, speaking kindly, maintaining good companionship, and informing a brother of one's love for him. And the most beloved of those who love each other for the sake of Allah is the one whose love for his companion is strongest.
