Is it true that the non-response to supplication and the strong downward pull on one's hands mean that the supplication is not answered? What is the source of this power? And is it true that hearing the sound of a rooster an hour or two before dawn is a good omen?

Supplicating (Du'a) upon hearing the crowing of roosters is recommended, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "When you hear the crowing of roosters, ask Allah for His bounty, for they have seen an angel." The reason a questioner might refrain from supplicating could be a whisper (waswasah) from Satan, seeking to deter him from making Du'a. Therefore, he should seek refuge with Allah from the accursed Satan and be keen on what benefits him.
