It is forbidden for a man to wear gold, and to sell it if it is used for sinful purposes. It is not permissible to sell a men's gold watch unless it is broken or melted down so that it cannot be worn. If it is highly probable that the watch will not be worn by a man, and that it will be sold as jewelry for women, then there is no harm in selling it. It is recommended to advise the seller that it is not permissible to sell the watch to a man for him to wear.
