Does a wife remain divorced after her husband has revocably divorced her, then she refused to return to him in one house with the new wife, and she remained with her family for a year? And what is the ruling of Islamic law on this marital relationship?

If a husband shows partiality to one of his wives over the other, he is sinful. Islamic law stipulated justice as a condition for permitting polygyny, as Allah Almighty says: "But if you fear that you will not be just, then [marry only] one."

As for the woman, if her husband takes her back during her 'iddah (waiting period) from a revocable divorce, she is still his wife, and no new contract is needed. She must obey him in what is right, and he must provide her with independent housing.

However, if the divorce was irrevocable, or if he did not take her back until after her 'iddah expired, then she is a stranger to him. He may propose to her and marry her, provided the divorce was not by three pronouncements.
