What should a young man do after discovering his fiancée's previous relationship with another man, her suffering from a jinn possession (mass ash-iq), and his desire to separate from her in light of her family's refusal and their insistence on him paying the dowry?

For a girl to continue a conversation with a young man is a reprehensible act from which she must repent and immediately sever the relationship, for it is a gateway to tribulation and corruption. Her claim of needing time to forget him is a diabolical trick. If she does not repent and sever the relationship, she is disobedient (nashiz), and her disobedience can be remedied by what Allah Almighty has clarified. If her condition does not improve, divorce may be better, especially given her bad character. It is permissible for the husband to prevent her from leaving (to 'adl her) so that she may ransom herself from him with her dowry or part of it, as a punishment for her. It is recommended to supplicate frequently and seek consultation.
