What is the ruling on owning slippers in the shape of animals to warm the feet?

There is no harm in acquiring shoes that contain images treated with disrespect (i.e., defaced or debased images), as the majority of scholars permit the use of such images. However, the issue lies in the ruling on manufacturing and purchasing them. Some scholars prohibit the manufacturing and purchasing of debased images, even if they permit their use. The predominant view, however, is the permissibility of acquiring and using three-dimensional and flat images that are treated with disrespect. Some scholars have gone further to permit the manufacturing of items for such uses, like weaving silk, and this is the view of the Maliki school. In the Shafi'i school, there are two opinions, the soundest of which is prohibition, and this is also the view of the Hanafi school. As for images whose creation is permissible, it is valid to buy and sell them. And whoever refrains from purchasing such shoes as a precaution and to avoid scholarly disagreement has done well.
