How can I keep myself and my tongue from idle talk at work?

To avoid idle talk and falsehood, it is advisable to recall the greatness of Allah, to fear His punishment, and to covet His reward. One should also remember that safety lies in guarding the tongue and limbs from what displeases Allah, and that "whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should speak good or remain silent." Furthermore, a Muslim should occupy himself with the remembrance of Allah, provided it does not conflict with his work, and he should remember the Sharia's demand for excelling in and perfecting one's work, for "Allah عز وجل loves that when one of you performs a deed, he perfects it."
